Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Our client is a dedicated childcare center located in the heart of Croydon, committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef / Cook to lead our kitchen, ensuring the continuation of our standards in culinary excellence and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of daily meals including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and a late snack for up to 104 children.
- Develop menu plans that are nutritious, balanced, and cater to the dietary needs and allergies of children aged 6 months to 6 years.
- Manage kitchen operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic environment at all times.
- Work independently in a fast-paced setting, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Uphold all health and safety regulations in the kitchen, contributing to the overall well-being of the children in our care.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate – Your expertise in food safety practices will be fundamental.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) – Ensuring you’re cleared to work in environments with children.
- Police Check – A clean police record is required to maintain the safety and integrity of our center.
- Do Food Safely Certification – Demonstrating your knowledge in food handling practices.
- Child Protection Certificate – Understanding the importance of safeguarding children.
- Understanding Allergies Training – Essential for creating safe meals for children with various allergies.
- A strong understanding of allergies and dietary requirements for children aged 6 months to 6 years.
- Knowledge and experience in health and safety practices within a kitchen setting.
- Exceptional ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and handle the pressure of a fast-paced environment.
