Description

As the EHS Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety and compliance within our client's organization. Your responsibilities will encompass the planning, development, and administration of educational and training programs to ensure adherence to health and safety policies and procedures. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks and proactive initiatives to uphold EHS standards across our operations. As a successful candidate, you will have experience working with flammable chemicals, which is an essential criterion for the position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training: Identify and address EHS training needs across various departments and sites, including Technical and Sales teams.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a strong understanding of relevant regulations and guidelines about chemical manufacturing, engaging with external entities when necessary.
  • Non-Conformance Management: Analyse data to identify areas of improvement, assist in developing solutions, and conduct thorough investigations into accidents and non-conformance's.
  • Audits & Inspections: Lead audits to ensure compliance with OHS and quality systems, conducting inspections and tests to uphold safety standards.

Profile

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance in chemical manufacturing, particularly in handling, storage, flammable goods, and the transportation of dangerous goods.
  • Proven experience with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO 14001:2015 standards.
  • Ability to influence and manage change within a matrix organizational structure.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional time management skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant EHS role.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications in OH&S management (Chemical Engineering background highly desirable).
  • Formal training in internal auditing methodologies.
  • Be a hands-on people person with the ability to get the job done.

Job Offer

This opportunity is a full-time position based in the western suburbs of Sydney. The successful candidate will have the flexibility for some interstate travel as required by the business.
