Job Responsibilities
- Manage inter-company transactions and reconciliations such as but not limited to reviewing and verifying charges, recording journals and transactions, and resolving reconciling items
- Assist with the development and implementation of budgetary and accounting policies
- Maintain accounting systems and payment platforms and assist in the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems. Liaise with system issues and map issues
- Examine and review the organisations's operating costs, allocating costs to relevant departments, reviewing the expenses and reporting on variances and reporting on variances and unusual movements
- Oversee revenue collection, creditors, and debtors of the organisation
- Maintain internal control systems including managing the invoice approval system, setting up automated controls and approval authority levels
- Provide specific reports to the management from analysing the revenues and costs to help with pricing strategies and decision making
- Assist with the preparation of the financial statements for presentation to the senior management, including the organisation's monthly balance sheet statements and other internal management reports as required
- Responsible for accounts payable duties such as review of vendor invoices for accuracy, code and perform data entry in Xero, send invoices for approval, communicate extensively with upper management and vendors on payments, invoice errors, and any account questions
- Responsible for banking functions such as bank balances, credit cards, managing foreign currency payments, ensuring timely reconciliation of the company's bank accounts, and foreign currency bank accounts
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Less than 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, and other related fields
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and financial analysis
- Proficiency in using accounting software and tools. Experience in Xero is required
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of tax regulations and familiarity with tax compliance and processes
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
