About the Role...

Due to a successful internal appointment, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Cadet Building Officer to start their Building Surveying career with our Building & Compliance team. This role acts as a first point of contact for building and development enquiries and is responsible for undertaking the administrative functions of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act and Regulations. The Cadet Building Officer will also contribute to assessment and inspections of building work ensuring safe and compliant buildings within the City of Playford.

About You...

To be successful in this role, you will need excellent interpersonal communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet conflicting deadlines. Your passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience, coupled with a basic knowledge of Local Government Development processes will place you well to make a significant and meaningful contribution to the City of Playford community.

In addition, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying or undertaking studies in Building Surveying
  • General knowledge of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act and Regulations
  • Highly developed computer literacy skills
  • Innovative and practical approach to problem solving and negotiation

Incumbents in this position will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical and functional assessment (including drug & alcohol screen) as well as undertaking a National Criminal History Clearance.
