Chester Hill High School (CHHS) is a comprehensive, co–educational secondary school situated in south western Sydney and is part of the Auburn Schools Educational Network. The school encompasses an Intensive English Centre. Chester Hill High School has a current student enrolment of 1090 (929 mainstream, 161 IEC). The school is culturally diverse with 93% of students possessing a language background other than English. Chester Hill High School has 117 refugee or refugee–like students and a growing number of students with an Aboriginal background. The FOEI of the school is 160. All students are encouraged to achieve in an environment that provides academic challenge and artistic, cultural and sporting opportunities. Specific Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach PD/Health/PE.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and community.
  • Ability to plan and deliver innovative and differentiated teaching and learning programs to engage students from a range of diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively deliver units of work and engage students in practical settings.Demonstrated capacity to effectively design and implement units of work across a range of context areas using future-focused pedagogies.

Conditions
The successful applicant may be eligible to receive a one-off recruitment payment of $20,000. (Conditions apply)
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
