The Role
Reporting through to the General Manager Corporate Services & Innovation, you’ll work closely with leadership group to:
  • Design end to end work systems to ensure that they meet current and future customer expectations in a cost effective and sustainable way
  • Identify and prioritise organisational systems and initiatives to enable the organisation to respond to emerging community, technological and other relevant requirements and demands
  • Lead, inspire, coach and mentor staff so that they recognise they are essential players to achieving business growth in a way which sees them connected to the wider purpose of the organisation, aware of their possible futures in the organisation, and creates an environment of trust and felt-fairness
  • Role model positive leadership behaviours which promote effective working relationships both internally and externally
  • Set clear, measurable individual objectives and hold people accountable for these
  • Ensure a strong communication link between staff and management related to required information
  • Proactively develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships, ensuring effective communication links, and represent Council as required
  • Provide, adapt and continually improve the delivery of services to customers consistent with organisational values and current compliance standards
  • Manage relevant expenditure and report on forecasts, trends and future projections as required
  • Provide, adapt, and continually improve processes, systems and procedures around receiving and handling of complaints, monitoring and auditing of quality
  • Conjure, conceptualise, and lead various projects in collaboration with the Leadership Group as required
  • Proactively contribute to specific change management strategies based on an understanding of the organisational culture and values
  • Initiate and be actively involved in continuous improvement initiatives as required
About You
  • Qualifications in Organisational Psychology, Human Resource Management or similar or significant demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in setting the strategic direction at team or organisational wide level as well as experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Comprehensive understanding of current trends and reforms in the sector as well as demonstrated experience in leading change associated with these
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to establish credibility and gain the confidence of a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds
