This community-based organisation in the not-for-profit sector provides a range of flexible services to the Bathurst community. Located in the Central West, this organisation has seen steady growth and is well known in the region.

About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Finance and Project Officer, you will be responsible for a wide array of finance and accounting tasks, as well as team leadership and staff development. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all accounts payable, receivable and payroll tasks. The preferred candidate would be able to work 4 days a week in the Bathurst Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Accounts payable and receivable functions in terms of day to day transactions
  • Train and monitor the administration officers / receptionists in finance related matters
  • Reconciliation of monthly GST prior to lodgement approval
  • Adherence to all financial deadlines involving ATO, DCJ, Super and ASIC
  • Keep up to date with accounting standards and comply with all current standards
  • Provide support to the executive, team leaders and managers to meet their financial compliance requirements
  • Other ad-hoc financial requirements as directed by the Senor Finance Project Officer
About you

To be successful in this role, you will have 2-3 years’ experience in accounting tasks including payroll, AP, and AR, as well as experience using Xero. You will have outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, as the role is reliant on being able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Previous experience with supervision and oversight of a small team would be ideal. Ideally you will have attained a degree or qualification in accounting or are working towards doing so. You must hold a valid Working with Children's Check.
