Aboriginal Program co-ordinator

Do you want a job that will give you the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children? Gunawirra is seeking an energetic driven individual to join us on a part-time basis in Rozelle between Monday to Friday with our small friendly and cohesive team.

In this role, you will be responsible for a range of day-to-day activities to assist us in seeking, packing and shipping donations to pre-schools across NSW.

Responsibilities include:

  • Being our first point of contact for our eminent Five Big Ideas program
  • Liaising with existing donors and establishing relationships with new donors
  • Co-ordinating the receipt, allocation, packing and shipping of supplies ensuring that they are dispatched accurately and on-time
  • Developing relationships with the supported preschools and understanding their needs and levels of support required
  • Assisting other team members where needed for successful management and growth of the Five Big Ideas program
  • providing content for promotional materials/social network communications and occasional reporting of volunteering activities.

About you

· You must be passionate and reliable with a positive and enthusiastic attitude

· Enthusiastic about Aboriginal and Torres Straight health and Early Intervention

· Experience working well alone and part of a team

· Computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft suite

· Excellent written /telephone manner and interpersonal skills

· Part-time availability for 9am-5pm business hours on agreed days

As a small team there is always something to do and new experiences to be had, with four employees - the environment is exciting, dynamic and perfect for somebody who doesn’t like to be bored!

Preference will be given to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander applicants

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Salary: $21.47 – $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 14 – 20 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends
