Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic and growing team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the business and working alongside the Senior Accountant to look after the company's books. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career growth and professional development within the accounting field.

Main Tasks

Core objectives include:

  • Process month end journals, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Assist with daily bank reconciliations
  • Assist with interim & final audits as required
  • Daily Cashflow Reporting
  • Assist in preparation of financial statements
  • Process payment runs, including uploading .aba files to the bank, and entering manual BPAY and EFT payments.
  • Back up and support as directed or in absence of Finance staff.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounts processes and systems.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders
  • Liaise with the external company accountant for financial report, tax returns, home warranty renewals and other matters

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying issues and proposing solutions.

Qualifications

  • At a minimum, a Bachelor's degrees in any business-related fields, with Accounting/Finance/Taxation being highly looked upon
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and tools, with experience in both MYOB and Xero
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Professional certification or progress towards obtaining certifications such as CPA or CA will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience in a similar role, although not required, is preferred
  • Ability to speak Mandarin
