Seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to work in a busy procurement team within State GovernmentYour new company
A major state government department based in Perth CBD, are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to manage procurement activities and lead a busy team. This role will be initially offered on a temporary engagement for 3-months, with the possibility of extension offered. You will be required to work full-time hours and will be paid competitively.
Your new role
- Developing and managing high risk contracts, including managing procurement planning, tendering and contract formation
- Conducting business planning and scope related to projects
- Mentor, coach and develop team members as needed
- Oversee the procurement activities across the wider team
- Provide specialist advice to clients, contractors and suppliers around procurement processes and contract development / management issues
- Prepare reports and deliver presentations related to procurement matters
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered, you will have:
- Previous experience working in a similar role
- Advanced contract development skills, with experience managing high risk contracts
- An excellent understanding of government procurement policies
- Advanced professional communication skills
