This is a permanent part-time position at 40 hours a fortnight. Your responsibilities will include: Familiarise yourself with the policy and procedures of Pastoral Care at Southern Cross Care and work in accordance with those policies and procedures Maintain appropriate boundaries as You will not be asked to provide nursing or personal care to the residents. Respect and maintain confidentiality of the facility and residents Record visits and submit monthly statistical returns to your manager. About you:Previous experience working as a Pastoral Carer in an Aged Care setting is preferred. Preferred background in counselling, social work, pastoral care, church ministry.To be considered for this role, you’ll need: Have developed skills in empathy, sensitivity and patience when working with residents Respect the right of residents to confidentiality and privacy Have well-developed interpersonal skills to communicate effectively on all levels both written and verbal. Have the ability to work harmoniously with people from a diverse range of social, economic, cultural and religious backgrounds. Be comfortable with the distinctly Catholic ethos of the facility.
