Think & Grow
Brisbane Full-day Full-time

Description:

Think and Grow is pleased to announce its collaboration with one of Australia's foremost independent wholesale enterprises. Renowned for its importation and distribution of premium brands across the ANZ region, this partnership marks an exciting venture for both parties involved.

With 23 distribution centres and 900 employees servicing over 4,000 B2B customers and thousands of consumers, the business sells over 3 million products each year, focused on delivering outstanding customer experiences. The vision is to lead their sector in digital transformation, harnessing technology to deliver innovative value-add solutions for all stakeholders. Focusing on excellence, the business is building a state of the art, adaptable IT platform that can deliver these outcomes across the ten companies in their portfolio, each having a leading position in their respective segments.

As a result of the consolidation of their wholesaling operations a new executive-level role has been created with responsibility for the successful operation of the Australian B2B wholesale business. Reporting to the Group CEO the position will be a hands-on operational role across all functions of the business with the remit to run the business as you own it, from running the P&L and financial reporting through to managing large supplier relationships and leading the ongoing transformation and restructure of key business units.

Prior experience within the wholesale distribution or associated industry sectors is essential with the aspiration to take over the role of the Group CEO (ASX Listed) within 3 years. Previous listed experience will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Driving the growth of new customers across target segments by deeply understanding segment needs and characteristics, and adapting sales strategies to deliver maximum growth. Meet shareholder expectations about returns on capital and investment.
  • Consistently achieve customer satisfaction targets based on increased transactions and an intense focus on the customer journey/experience. Stay across emerging customer trends and the competitive landscape. Retain and develop key supplier relationships.
  • Be the external face of the company with clients and partners. A proven ability to represent a brand in market, managing both internal and external stakeholders to drive awareness, advocacy and meaningful, sustainable commercial growth.
  • Coach and lead across the organisation to drive performance and engagement, whilst living and breathing the company culture, values and vision. Lead in a way that fosters trust, clarity and impactful outcomes. Identify, engage, hire and retain exceptional talent across the business.
  • Understand corporate finance and design, document and communicate capital management plans as required. Present the performance and prospects of the business to shareholders in accordance with ASX Listing Rules and Corporations Act.
  • Participate in the work of industry bodies.

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Exceptional track record (10+yrs) of success within the importer, supply-chain, wholesale distributor or retail sectors, ideally in a CEO/MD capacity. Proven ability to deliver on revenue targets, customer yield and employee satisfaction surveys.
  • Demonstrable experience of overachieving on revenue growth and metrics. Experience operating within a transition process previously with the ability to pivot and adapt with a sense of urgency. A creative problem solver with solid financial & commercial acumen.
  • Extensive general management, commercial and people leadership experience with the ability to capture hearts and minds and create passion, positive energy and forward movement. Demonstrated ability to lead growth-focused wholesale businesses with P&L ownership.
