Who are we looking for?

The Community Connections program aims to empower individuals to enhance their independence by strengthening connections within communities, social networks, and access to services. This position is based at our Christies Beach office and will involve networking within the southern regions of Onkaparinga council, Marion, Mitchem & Holdfast Bay.

If you excel at engaging with communities to grasp their unique requirements, possess exceptional communication abilities, can provide accurate relevant referrals, and are focused on achieving outcomes, then this role could be a perfect fit for you!

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Identify emerging regional needs, priorities and issues and support the coordination of Community Connection Partners to respond.
  • Work alongside participants and support services to recognise and build upon participants existing strengths and abilities, helping people achieve greater independence and quality of life.
  • Participate in local forums and networks, liaising with other service agencies, internal and external community programs, local workers to develop partnerships and collaborative working relationships.
  • Undertake mapping of services and initiatives within the region.

What do you need to bring?

  • Tertiary qualifications in social sciences or community service/ development field (desirable) or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to define key issues and develop creative, constructive, flexible and responsive solutions for participants experiencing social isolation in partnership with key
  • Demonstrated cultural capability with Indigenous Communities
