Could you be our next Workplace Relations Consultant?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Workplace Relations Consultant to join our team on a 9-month parental leave cover. You'll be at the forefront of ensuring McDonald’s maintains robust people compliance performance and adheres to best practice principles in managing employee relations within our restaurants. Your mission? To diagnose opportunities, implement solutions, and ensure our teams operate in a supportive, compliant, and productive environment.

What can you expect on a day-to-day basis?

  • Conduct thorough investigations and manage complex employee relations matters
  • Develop and update educational resources on ER/compliance for our restaurants
  • Monitor background checks and mitigate risks to our brand and people
  • Assist in managing external/legal/regulatory claims
  • Coach line managers on compliance matters and employee relations
  • Deliver training on compliance, investigations, and people performance
  • Analyse data to produce insightful reports and recommend improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with various departments to optimise legal and compliance practices
  • Foster a high-performance culture by developing team members and providing feedback
Qualifications:

Your keys to success:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, Law, or similar field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of Australian employment law and modern awards
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems with autonomy and initiative
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and tailoring solutions to business needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with polished presentation abilities
  • Exceptional organisational skills and ability to manage multiple complex matters
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong ethical standards
  • Previous experience in a McDonald’s restaurant or other QSR will be highly regarded
