Our Place Activation team at Placemaking NSW are currently seeking to appoint 4 x Activation Programming and Administration Casuals to support Sydney’s most historically and culturally significant waterfront locations, including Sydney’s heritage and cultural precinct of The Rocks, and Darling Harbour, Barangaroo and White Bay Power Station.


Working as part of a fast-paced, dynamic team these casual roles will be integral to assisting at various times throughout the year and busy periods with the programming, coordination, and administration of activation plans. These flexible roles will support the development of creative programming for major precinct campaigns including Christmas, Lunar New Year, and school holidays, as well as the ongoing Place Experience programs across each precinct, and other programmed cultural experiences. These roles will be involved in researching, developing briefs, supporting contracting of artists and performers, reviewing, and reporting on the experience delivery, and liaising with internal team members to find solutions.


These are casual positions with flexible hours and may require occasional on-site work.


About You

  • Previous experience in arts, events, activation administration and or programming, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and platforms.
  • Creative thinker with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.

Essential Requirements


  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Arts, Events, Theatre, Music, Entertainment or Marketing, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
