Appointment Pool


Swan View Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.


Suitable applicants should have experience and knowledge of trauma informed practice and strong behaviour management skills. Suitable applicants will ideally be highly motivated, energetic, team-focussed, and student-centred people who promote, build, and maintain professional relationships. They should display excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. Our school has a very positive culture in the manner it supports staff and students. We utilise a team orientated approach to provide positive outcomes.


The capacity to work as an active and effective member of a collaborative team by sharing experiences and resources is highly desirable. Responding to feedback and displaying an ongoing commitment to professional development, coaching, and being able to work collaboratively to promote student learning and wellbeing is a high priority. We have a high population of Aboriginal students, so experience with catering for Aboriginal contexts and English as an Additional Language or Dialect students is desirable.


Suitable applicants should be passionate, motivated, and committed individuals with a passion for improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every child, every day, through our whole school approaches and instructional strategies.


Suitable applicants should be committed to developing positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider community. They will ideally have a thorough understanding of positive classroom management and work with students and families to teach and model expected behaviours. Suitable applicants should possess a strong capacity to plan differentiated and engaging programs using an excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum. Knowledge of Letters and Sounds is also desirable.


Swan View PS is a picturesque school with a long standing positive reputation in the Swan View community. Many generations of families have attended the school. We offer a range of extra programs within the school such as Sunflower Club, Children’s University (through ECU), Helping Minds, and Drumbeat. ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS


Employees will be required to :



  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
