This position is offered as a twelve (12) month contract/secondment opportunity with the possibility of extension. This position is temporarily funded for a finite period.


POSITION OBJECTIVE


The position is responsible for either initiating and/or managing the implementation of large-scale projects that are complex, have corporate significance, and / or have multiple tranches. The position is responsible for executing the program, tracking the delivery of outcomes / benefits within the approved scope, budget and timeframes, and for ensuring the program remains aligned with the approved business cases or programmed schedules, in order to positively contribute to the Western Australia (WA) Police Force’s mission statement and strategic business plans.


The position will have a strong asset maintenance and planning focus that will require sensitive and proactive coordination with multiple internal and external stakeholders, along with the ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts and regulatory bodies.

Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work related requirements in no more than two (2) pages:



  • Program Management skills - Establishing and providing direction on the development, documenting, implementation and evaluation of program management, project leaders management, governance and quality assurance activities. Demonstrating ability in the application of program methodologies, governance, and quality assurance methodologies. Applying knowledge and understanding of building industry principles and engineering principles.


  • Leadership and relationship management skills - Developing and maintaining professional relationships and partnerships with both external and internal stakeholders. Negotiating outcomes that meet and/or achieve stakeholder, governance and/or board/committee requirements. Providing effective leadership and direction to others. Creating a positive work environment that contributes to positive work place change.

Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.


The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.


The successful applicant is required to hold a current C Class Driver’s Licence.

OTHER CONDITIONS


Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the metropolitan area. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment.


Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
