We are currently accepting applications for the role of Type Rated Instructor - Simulator Instructor for our A330 fleet.

The Type Rated Instructor - Simulator Instructor will provide training duties as outlined in the Qantas Training and Checking Manual. You will be responsible for conducting training courses, including training and checking duties in our A330 flight simulators. In addition to this, you will attend company meetings and carry out other duties as directed by the Training Manager.

To become eligible for selection for training as a Type Rated Instructor - Simulator Instructor for our A330 fleet, you will have:

  • Held, as a minimum, an Australian Commercial Pilot Licence (Aeroplane)

  • Held an Instrument Rating endorsed with MEA, IAP 2D, and IAP 3D

  • Attained a high standard of proficiency

  • A minimum of 1000 hours multi-engine (fixed wing) command time

  • Experience in Regular Public Transport, multi-crew, narrow or wide-body jet aircraft operations

  • Previous instructor experience in multi-crew aeroplane type rating training

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills

  • Inclusive and respectful leadership qualities

  • The ability to provide a positive and caring training culture for all trainees

  • A proven ability to work as part of a team

  • A high level of motivation

  • A demonstrated knowledge of Civil Aviation Legislation applicable to jet transport operations and flight crew training and licencing

  • An in-depth understanding of Human Factors and non-technical skills
