We seek a motivated farmhand for their intensively run row cropping enterprise, providing career progression opportunities for the right person.

The Role:
This successful family-owned and operated cropping enterprise that has been meticulously set up with modern infrastructure and machinery, they are now looking to expand their dedicated team of 10 full-time employees with this exciting new role. The property covers some 5,000 acres with 1,800 of that under intensively run irrigated row cropping. Most of this property is under irrigation, consisting of centre pivots with lateral and solid set irrigation.
We are searching for a passionate person to join a motivated team in the capacity of a cropping farmhand working across the enterprise to assist the management team with the day-to-day operation of the property and cropping procedures. Our clients invite applications from varying skill levels; however, prior experience in a similar role would be an advantage. You must be motivated and eager to apply yourself and expand your skill set with a genuine interest in agriculture.
The majority of your role will involve machinery operations, including tillage, ground preparation & spreading, making previous tractor experience preferable but not essential. You will also need to be able to keep basic records of amounts and areas worked and spread. Candidates with mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills are also desirable, as the entire team works together on maintaining and repairing all machinery and infrastructure.
A level of digital literacy is also required as the business utilises ag-based software applications such as AgWorld for inventory tracking, fertiliser applications, etc.

Barooga has great recreational activities, accommodation, and local pubs, with a golf course.
The Ideal Candidate:
The successful applicant will have the following skills:

• Have the ability to work in a team environment.
• Prior experience in the cropping industry is ideal.
• ChemCert will be advantageous but not essential.
• Will possess enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and adapt to situations.
• Provide attention to detail and take pride in their work.
• Proficient with using ag-based mobile software, Agworld, grain inventory tracking, fertiliser inventory tracking and paddock record management.
• Knowledge of irrigation operations is ideal.
