The Technical Advisor (M365 Architect) within the Modern Workplace team will provide technical architectural oversight to Modern Workplace solutions and modernisation to drive high-priority business initiatives on Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies. This role will drive the cultural changes within the business to adopt, embrace and empower members. This role will be working in a professional, highly dynamic and established team of ICT services professionals and will be regularly exposed to the various disciplines that Victoria Police operates in.

Your duties will include:

  • Understand business and IT priorities and success measures to design implementation architectures and solutions.
  • Lead technical advice and subject matter expert of the Modern Workplace portfolio ensuring the services meet the current and future needs of the business to drive business outcomes.
  • Apply technical knowledge and business insights to create modernisation roadmap. Architect solutions to meet business and IT needs to ensure technical viability of new projects and successful deployment ensuring optimised solution, service continuity that is consistent with the future business need, Victoria Police enterprise architecture, leveraging best-practice technologies and practices available in the market.
  • Ensure all solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability and appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment.
  • Prepare high-quality technical advice and architectural design documentation solving complex technical issues and delivering business value.
  • Be the Voice of the Customer, share insights and best practices and connect with engineering teams to remove key blockers.
  • Orchestrate complex solutions with internal and external partners for multiple products and services.
  • Identify and diagnose technical, architectural opportunities and decisions to deliver business outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain key partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct appropriate research as required and maintain a sound understanding of relevant technologies.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in a multidisciplinary Information, Communication and Digital technology role is highly desirable.
  • Enterprise scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructure, architecture design and roadmaps, migration and technology management required.
  • Experience and understanding of large-scale application portfolio in enterprise-wide environments (including migration of on-premises workloads to cloud) required.
  • Enterprise-level technical experience with Microsoft 365 technologies, Network, Voice and Data platforms, Unified Cloud computing environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise and ability to integrate complex elements and customer requirements into innovative technical solutions in the enterprise business environment.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders, strong leadership, interpersonal, negotiation, communication and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience at a senior level in the preparation and provision of responsive, clear, and concise specialist advice, recommendations, and solutions both verbally and in writing through effective research, negotiation, and consultation with stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction, and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for the stakeholder and the department.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as information technology or business is highly desirable.
  • Prior work experience in a Customer Success or Solution Architecture preferred.
  • Experience working in an agile and dynamic technology environment.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
