About the role:

This role is within the Road Policing Operations and Investigations Division (RPOID), which is comprised of 3 main working units, namely: Major Collision Investigation Unit, State Highway Patrol (South-East) and the Heavy Vehicle Unit. This role is responsible for, but not limited to, the administration and property services in support of the State Highway Patrol South-East and reports to the Team Leader Administration / Property Services as well as the Senior Sergeant / management team within the unit

Your duties will include:

  • Undertake a range of administrative support functions including property services, maintenance and management of various records, registers, and databases.
  • Attend to telephone enquiries from Sworn and VPS employees within the organisation as well as members of the Public.
  • Liaise with and offer advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform data recording and reporting through the Microsoft Word, Excel and Access computer programs.
  • Prepare and disseminate statistical reports relating to service delivery and outcomes for the unit.
  • Maintain computerised records through the brief and correspondence register to record the movement of files within the office.
  • Process a wide range of administrative tasks relating to routine financial, personnel, purchasing and stationery transactions.
  • Other duties as required to support the Road Policing Operations and Investigation Division.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Proven ability to work with limited supervision and the ability to prioritise workload whilst meeting strict deadlines.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral, and proven ability to communicate effectively to obtain co-operation from management, staff, and various stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain systematic and accurate administrative records.
  • Ability to work within a team environment as well as autonomously.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at the Notting Hill Police Complex, Blackburn Road, Notting Hill
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
