An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic person to bring our cafe to life in our award-winning residential aged care facility, Lansdowne Gardens on Wycombe, located in Sydney's Lower North Shore.
Lansdowne Gardens, with the luxury and warmth of a stately home overlooking Sydney Harbour, sets a new standard in residential aged care. It is an Extra Service facility and thereby provides additional 'hotel' type services or lifestyle extras, including higher standards of accommodation and increased activities, entertainment and food choices.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Cafe Assistant/Barista, you will be a part of a cohesive, dynamic team, that is effective, capable, and thriving in their work, dedicated to providing the best level of service and care to our residents.
Offering simple menu choices, the Cafe is a welcoming place for residents and guests to socialise and relax. Encouraging this atmosphere is a very important part of this role.
The Cafe is a 7 day flexible operation, and We are looking for someone that is available 5 days per week, ideally covering weekends, days can be negotiated as part or our recruitment process.
ABOUT YOU
You will:
- have 1+ year Barista experience
- Barista certificate essential
- be committed to delivering an exceptional level of service
- have an engaging personality to create a positive environment in the Cafe
- enjoy making conversation with the elderly and guests
- knowledge in basic cafe food preparation
- experience in cash handling and stock control
- good communication skills - excellent English skills essential
- assist with dishwashing, and cleaning duties when required
- be up to date on vaccinations for Covid-19 and Influenza
Experience in an aged care residence is preferable. Alternatively, you will have a hospital or hospitality background and be familiar with food provision and/or the standard of cleaning necessary for an aged care residence.
