How will I help?

An exciting opportunity is available for a KYC Specialist to join our team.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Actively offer customers appropriate specialist advice to meet their needs and provide support for service issues.
  • Provide superior day to day support to customers and bankers with primary responsibility for resolution of service requests to identify organisational entities.
  • Build and maintain high quality relationships with customers through the provision of service and appropriate advice.
  • Provide feedback to product and operations teams to develop better solutions and more efficient processes to support the provision of superior service.
  • Identify and seek to resolve or escalate as appropriate non lending losses and compliance incidents.
  • Ensure all activity and administration is consistent with the Bank's regulatory obligations (including FSR, AML etc).
  • Positively influence the stakeholders and business partners to develop the best outcomes for Westpac and our customers
  • Proactively contribute to innovation and continuous improvement to improve quality, efficiency, risk, and compliance outcomes by working closely with cross-functional teams across the organisation.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you need to have the following skills:

  • High level knowledge of KYC & IDV banking processes end to end as well as the individual functions throughout the process.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement and Lean methodologies
  • Understanding of Business support systems and tools
  • Ability to contribute to continuous improvement activities including root cause analysis and post implementation reviews.
  • Ability to maintain and manage relationships with internal and external customers e.g., Team Members, Managers, Leaders, and external parties.
  • Ability to utilise business metrics to drive continuous improvement in the areas of efficiency and quality.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office - must be proficient in the use of Excel and Power Point.
  • Knowledge and application of compliance and legislative requirements.
  • Understanding and applying the principles of risk management.
