The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. A new role awaits Seeking a rewarding and challenging new role in the NDIAs Service Guidance Branch? The branch has multiple positions for APS5 Guidance Officers to join their teams. The Service Guidance Branch is responsible for presenting Agency policy, improvements and system enhancements in clear Our Guidelines to support the Agency's front line (National Delivery). This guidance enables front line staff to make consistent decisions and participants to have choice and control over their lives. The branch also develops content for participants and external stakeholders to support Our Guidelines, including letters, forms, factsheets and guides to what the Agency does and does not fund. Where you can add value As an APS5 Guidance Officer you will play a key role in researching, drafting and updating internal and external guidance with a participant focus that reflects the Agency’s policy positions and meets agency’s plain English and accessibility standards. Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Interpreting the policy and legislative environment the branch operates in, including understanding and translating the NDIS Act and NDIS Rules into Our Guidelines.
  • Developing or updating guidance material in response to participant and external stakeholder feedback.
  • Understanding the key stages of the participant pathway, specific participant cohorts and technical processes within SAP CRM and PACE business system requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining Knowledge articles to support Service Delivery priorities and reflective of the current PACE business system.
  • Managing multiple priorities while maintaining high work standards, governance protocols and accuracy, meeting defined timeframes and performing other duties as requested

We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity however, non-ongoing roles may be offered. A merit pool will be established that may be used to fill similar positions (ongoing and non-ongoing) within the next 18 months.
