The Role

An exciting permanent, full-time opportunity has become available within the Signals Branch in the Network & infrastructure Division.

In conjunction with Learning and Development, the Workplace Trainer & Assessor (signals) plans, develops, delivers and reviews technical training and assessments for PTA employees and contractors.

In addition, this role provides advice and support to stakeholders, and evaluates and reviews training program evaluation strategies and tools for continuous improvement to meet business needs through on the job coaching and assessments specific to the signalling discipline within the Network & Infrastructure Division. Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining competency standards to meet regulatory obligations under the Australian Quality Training Framework and develops and review procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Possession of a Certificate IV in Training and Workplace Assessment.
  • Knowledge of and/or skills in competency based training and assessment.
  • Extensive experience in conducting training and assessing within a Signaling maintenance/railway environment.
  • Qualified and competent to be considered an SME* for the purposes of training for signaling related tasks.
  • Working knowledge of the Rail Safety Management Standards, Railway Safety Act 2015 and other regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated in-depth field experience in Rail Safety activities.
