The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Crime Analyst to join our dynamic team. As a Financial Crime Analyst, you will play a key role in mitigating financial crime risks by conducting enhanced customer due diligence, investigating suspicious activities, customer risk ratings, and ensuring compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct enhanced due diligence on new and existing customers to identify potential AML/CTF risk.
  • Investigate identify suspicious activities and transactions to detect and prevent financial crimes.
  • Assess and assign risk ratings to customers based on IFL customer risk rating methodology.
  • Stay updated of regulatory developments and industry best practices related to financial crime prevention and AML/CTF compliance.
  • Proven Knowledge in AML/CTF compliance reporting obligations, typologies and red flags.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to escalate and address potential financial crime issues.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in finance, Accounting, Business, or related studies, desirable.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial crime role, with a focus on enhanced customer due diligence and investigation.
  • Strong understanding AML/CTF regulations, KYC requirements, and other financial crime frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify potential financial crime risks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently has a positive and enthusiastic work attitude.
