Territory Horticulture is a leading provider of Horticulture and Turf Maintenance services across the ACT. Some of our contracts include, but are not limited to:

  • The Hyatt Hotel
  • The National Museum of Australia
  • Embassy’s and High Commissions
  • Numerous Strata complexes throughout ACT and surrounds
  • Numerous aged care facilities

We require Horticulturists to conduct general horticulture maintenance activities in the establishment and beautification of our prestige contracts. Having an eye for detail, the incumbent must be passionate about native plants and landscape management.

What You'll Do
As a horticulturalist, you will lead a small team and work as part of the team who are responsible for horticulture for select clients in the ACT. The horticulturalist will manage and allocate tasks to ensure that all of the required functions of the sites are completed to meet the needs of the customer.

Some of the tasks involved are;

  • Manage the schedule of works that need to be done daily, weekly, monthly and in some cases seasonally to maintain the grounds.
  • Engage, lead, and motivate the team using your people management skills to meet and improve the skills of the team members.
  • Involve the team by encouragement and motivating to deliver safety excellence and promote risk awareness.
  • Perform general horticultural maintenance such as pruning, weeding, mowing, spraying, watering, mulching, planting and irrigation maintenance
  • Operate the machinery and mobile plant that is supplied and ensure that the machinery is secure and operated safely whilst on site.

What We're Looking For

Cert III in Horticulture or similar qualification

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience maintaining high quality landscapes
  • Proven grounds maintenance and gardening experience
  • Team leader or leadership experience
  • Passionate about driving continuous improvement initiatives, to improve safety, efficiencies and reliability
  • Personal capability to engage and motivate a small team and create a collaborative working environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate cross functionally to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $65,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay
