Our team is focussed on leveraging Telstra’s assets, growing our Wholesale and nbn co revenue streams in order to position InfraCo as a strong, viable business in the market What You’ll Do The Contract Specialist is responsible for supporting and providing commercial acumen, contractual expertise and business focus in the development and implementation of Supplier contracts to ensure Telstra meets its obligations to InfraCo and Telstra business requirements. The role includes supporting and providing key inputs towards the scoping, compilation, negotiation, and operational management of Supplier contracts where InfraCo seeks the services of external suppliers/contractors. We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Contract Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Draft and Finalize Contracts: Utilize your expertise to draft, evaluate, negotiate, and finalize comprehensive contracts that align with our company’s interests.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the key presenter of contract details, ensuring all relevant parties, including stakeholders, are fully informed and engaged.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers, establishing and nurturing strong, professional relationships to facilitate smooth contractual proceedings.
  • Issue Resolution: Show your problem-solving prowess by providing timely and effective resolution to contract-related issues, both within our organization and with external partners.
  • Information Dissemination: Keep all stakeholders in the loop by communicating essential contract-related information, ensuring transparency and clarity across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
  • To provide administration and contract management support for the delivery of programs of work to the satisfaction of our customer with respect to time, cost, quality and OHS&E and defined legal and commercial parameters.
  • Assist the team ensuring that commercially sound delivery strategies are in place for each assigned work category within the relevant Portfolios and where required each delivery strategy aligns with any relevant Company Wide Strategic Initiatives.
  • Provide assistance to ensure that assigned work category delivery strategies include identified and designated resources to manage the implementation of Contracts (this may include Contract Managers, Planners, Project and Program managers, etc).
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure that key Business Unit KRA’S & KPI’s are being met for the relevant Portfolio.
  • Ensure that Telstra’s commercial, legal and financial exposures are properly managed
  • Issue and manage orders to contractors. Ensure the delivery of the works provide the required scope, cost, time, quality and HSE outcomes for each package of work.
  • Monitor and advise other LOB’s staff, actions being undertaken to ensure Telstra’s contractual compliance for external commercial agreements.
  • Provide assistance and advice to internal stakeholders as appropriate to assist in the delivery of Telstra’s obligations to InfraCo
  • Participate in commercial negotiations where required.
  • Contribute to the resolution of supplier contracts issues or related disputes where required.
  • Assist in financial, operational, and contractual analysis to identify risks and propose appropriate market and mitigation strategies.
  • Support process improvement based on Business Unit, Corporate models and industry best practice.
  • Utilise good negotiation and issue resolution skills to persuade/influence Contractors, contract stakeholders and clients.
  • Ensure the delivery of the works provide the required scope, cost, time, quality and OHS&E outcomes for each package of work.
About you To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience and qualifications: Essential
  • Experience in operational contract administration, with a desired minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • Proven experience in Contract management, minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • Proficient knowledge of Contract Management systems.
Highly Desirable
  • Experience in or knowledge of TSA, including TFO and/or other contracts
  • Contract Management certification
  • Knowledge of Telstra Systems
  • Project Management certification (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of Telstra Financial Systems and Processes and Telstra Asset Management (advantageous)
  • Any related tertiary qualifications (advantageous)
