Position Information

Bonnyrigg High School is a partially selective, comprehensive and co-educational school in South Western Sydney. We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we learn, the Cabrogal clan of the Dharug nation. The school has an enrolment of 1665 students, including 98% from a non-English speaking background and with 2% being Aboriginal. The school has exemplary student welfare programs and a focus on quality teaching. Bonnyrigg High School is a high performing school with a strong learning culture and high expectations of students. Learning priorities for the next four years have been developed through a thorough situational analysis, in consultation with community. These high level areas for improvement include literacy, numeracy, high potential, vocational education and training programs, and increasing student engagement. The school's caring and supportive environment builds learning capacity in a wide range of academic, sporting, vocational, cultural and co-curricular experiences.

Selection Criteria

1. Approval to teach PD/H/PE - Personal Development, Health & Physical Education.


2. Capacity to plan and deliver innovative and differentiated teaching and learning programs to engage students from a range of diverse backgrounds.


3. Demonstrated ability for effective classroom management and student wellbeing practices that support an inclusive learning environment that promotes positive relationships with students.

4. High level of interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents and the wider community.

5. Capacity to contribute to sport and extra-curricular activities in school, including but not limited to, gala days, carnivals, and knockout competitions.


Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
