About the role

Exciting opportunity to jump in and truly understand the ‘day of operations’ within Pacific National. In this casual position you will learn how to develop rosters and assign crew to align with requirements. You will have exposure to learn how to interpret enterprise agreements and assign crew based on skill level and availability whilst meeting our strict safety and fatigue guidelines.

This position is a fast-paced deadline driven role that plays an integral part in ensuring our teams deliver what matters to our customers!

*Note: you will be required to work on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development rosters, assigning crew to align with requirements and EA conditions.
  • Development of variation and changes required or solutions necessary to enable recovery to plan
  • Responsible for service plan management which identifies conflicts, constraints, efficiency, and effectiveness opportunities
  • Contribution to the deployment of new and existing services with operations group to improve both business and customer performance

About you

You will have strong analytical skills and a commitment to problem solving, coupled with an innovative and creative thinking style. You will be motivated by the prospect of meeting tight deadlines and successfully managing competing priorities. Most importantly you will be ready to learn and develop a future career within the exciting world of Rail!

In addition:

  • Flexibility to work a rotating day shift roster
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively using multiple mediums (phone, email, text messages, etc)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Positive ‘Can Do’ attitude and the thirst to learn!
  • Ability to develop stakeholder relationships
  • Tech savvy with the ability to use multiple software applications
