Description:

As the Swimming Administrator and Pool Deck Supervisor, you’ll be a key part of our team, supporting the Learn to Swim Manager in the day-to-day operations of the swimming programs. Your role will involve both administrative tasks for the Learn to Swim and Squad programs and on-deck supervision of Learn to Swim classes.

Hours of Work: 25.5 hours per week
Monday: 11.30 AM – 5.00 PM
Tuesday: 11.30 AM – 5.30 PM
Wednesday: 11.30 AM – 5.30 PM
Thursday: 10.45 AM – 5.30 PM
Saturday: 8.15 AM – 12.00 PM

Our swim program at MLC is a vibrant community where over 500 participants, including MLC students and community members, come together to learn and enjoy swimming. We're dedicated to providing high-quality swimming education in a supportive and inclusive environment. The MLC Learn to Swim program provides a pathway to competitive swimming through MLC Aquatic, one of Victoria’s most successful swimming clubs.

Some of your primary duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries via email and phone
  • Schedule assessments and classes for Learn to Swim participants
  • Maintain accurate customer records
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Provide administrative support
  • Supervise swimming pool during lessons
  • Welcome and assist customers poolside
  • Conduct assessments for new and current participants

About You

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective planning and organisational skills
  • Proven competence with use of technology
  • Acts professionally and maintains appropriate confidentiality
  • A current Working with Children Check and Police Check
  • Be open to ideas, striving for excellence and have a high level of integrity
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification or willing to obtain
  • Anaphylaxis and asthma management certificate or willing to obtain
  • Austswim or Swim Australia Qualification or Equivalent

Essential Requirements

  • Pool Lifeguard Award
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Qualified Swim Teacher
  • Current Provide/Perform CPR
  • Certificate III in Aquatics and Community Recreation
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check

Desirable Criteria

  • Accredited Swimming Coach
