About the role:
Reporting to the Group Executive, Member Engagement, Education & Advice (MEE&A), this newly created position will play a crucial role in enabling organisational compliance and support the maturation of the super fund’s compliance frameworks. Whilst working with senior stakeholders across the business. The successful person will have a key focus on developing and leading a large and high performing team across the Member Engagement, Education and Advice teams within the fund.
Job Description:
The role is an exceptional opportunity for a senior risk and compliance leader with deep experience across financial advice and superannuation operations. You will be empowered to lead a large and high performing risk and compliance team owing the incidents and breaches, business risk and compliance, regulatory change teams that support the Member Engagement, Education and Advice teams within the fund.
This person will also have indirect lines of oversight across the Quality Assurance, Accumulation, Approved Product List (APL) and the Advice teams of the business.
A diverse role that delivers oversight of risk and compliance to the business by providing commercially sound compliance and risk advice while challenging stakeholders to push the boundaries within risk guidelines to meet the strategy and vision of the executive leadership team.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide support to the management and growth of compliance frameworks and strategies for the business;
- Collaborate with the regulatory, legal and broader compliance teams and drive positive change outcomes;
- Accountable for the end-to-end management of relevant compliance strategies, policies, and procedures;
- Mentor team members and implement performance plans for the team for continuous development;
- Be the fund’s superannuation risk & compliance Subject Matter Expert (SME) and the main point of contact for all regulatory and compliance matters;
- Build, develop, and lead a large high performing team;
- Oversee and manage complex incidents, breaches, and controls;
- Partner with the senior and executive leadership team and liaise with the board while serving as a Committee Chair;
- Offer advice and leadership to the team regarding compliance and help develop an effective compliance culture; AND
- Excellent ability to build rapport and partner with internal stakeholders.
- Tertiary education, preferably with specialisation in finance, business, project management, risk and compliance management or law;
- A deep background in financial advice is a must;
- Exceptional leadership abilities and strong influencing capabilities to drive outcomes and change initiatives; AND
- Strong project management skills and experience in delivering outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives preferred;
- Previous experience as a Head of Risk and Compliance or a Head of Advice is highly regarded; AND
- Comfortable with advising senior executives and presenting to the board on strategic decisions.
