Role Overview

The financial analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. This role involves conducting financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis to assess the financial performance and health of the organization. The financial analyst collaborates with various departments to gather and analyze data, develop financial plans and budgets, and identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Lead the financial budget and forecasting process to bring dollar figures to the business plans to support strategic planning and cash management.
  • Maintain and enhance financial models, tools, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Run scenario testing and the resulting financials

  • Financial Analysis and Reporting:
  • Analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to assess the organization's financial performance and identify trends.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, board slides, dashboards, and presentations to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis to compare actual financial results against budgeted and forecasted figures and identify areas of concern or improvement.

  • Investment Analysis:
  • Provide comprehensive support on debt and equity deals by conducting thorough financial analysis, preparing financial models, and assisting in the due diligence process.
- Evaluate and support other investment opportunities - exit opportunities, creation of new business, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives - by assessing financial risks and returns.
  • Monitor economic and industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to assess their potential impact on the organization's financial performance.

  • Other Business Analysis
  • Conduct thorough pricing analysis and competitor intelligence to inform strategic pricing decisions and enhance the organization's competitive positioning in the market.
  • Lead and support ad-hoc business analysis and special projects .

Who You Are

  • At least five (5) years of experience in financial analysis required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or related discipline
  • CPA/CFA certification is a plus
  • Proven experience as a financial analyst or similar role, preferably in a startup, scale-up, and/or M&A environments
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and analysis techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Knowledge of global financial regulations
