St Francis Xavier is an Aboriginal Catholic Community School that sits on the banks of the beautiful Daly River, known by the local people as the Green River. Daly River has over 450 residents with 10 different language groups. The traditional owners of the land are the Malak Malak people. St Francis Xavier has teaching staff drawn from all over Australia, supported by local Indigenous teaching assistants.
Saint Francis Xavier School at Daly River is a vibrant Catholic school for the Indigenous Community at Nauiyu on the Daly River, 250 kilometres southwest of Darwin in the Northern Territory.
The Religious Education Coordinator with the Principal shares the responsibility for spiritual leadership and formation in faith, the implementation of the Journey in Faith curriculum and support to staff in the integration of the Catholic perspective across the curriculum. This position is to be held by a practicing Catholic who is committed to the Catholic faith.
This position will involve working with children. The appointment of the successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with legislation.
