We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Field Service Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing repairs and servicing our products in accordance with company procedures and technical specifications. This role will involve on-site work at customer premises, as well as occasional on-call service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs and service of company products under the direction of the Customer Service Manager and Team Leader.
- Disassemble and assess products for repair, documenting work required and parts needed.
- Reassemble products according to manuals and technical specifications, accompanied by detailed reports.
- Test reassembled products and provide comprehensive test result reports.
- Utilize hand tools to fit and assemble parts, demonstrating strong mechanical aptitude.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair or service matters.
- Diagnose product issues on-site and provide support and recommendations for resolution.
- Install repaired products at customer sites when required.
- Maintain accurate records of customer visits and ensure all paperwork is up to date.
- Deliver training to new employees on repair and service procedures.
- Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Participate in team meetings aimed at enhancing workshop standards.
- Ensure company assets are well-maintained and organized.
- Trade qualification such as Cert III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
- Previous experience with heavy vehicle transmissions or equivalent is advantageous.
- Prior field service experience is highly regarded.
- Forklift license preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
