New Enrolled Nurses are invited to submit an application for this valuable program providing a foundation to assist a smooth transition from student to qualified Enrolled Nurse. This program allows you to consolidate your skills in a supportive team environment and apply your theoretical knowledge in real life. The contract: Ongoing, 0.6 – 1.0 EFT by negotiation. Mid-Year entry 2024.
The program:
Our Enrolled Nurse Transition to Practice Program will support you in developing the skills required to be a competent, confident and accountable professional Enrolled Nurse. The Program itself operates over 12 months and consists of two 6-month rotations. This program provides a great opportunity to further strengthen your nursing knowledge and practice with support from our experienced Educators and the broader BRHS team.
- Possible areas for rotations are: Medical/Surgical Tambo Ward, Sub-acute (Rehabilitation) Flanagan Ward, Medical/Palliative Care/Paediatrics/Midwifery Rotamah Ward and Aged Care.
- Once this 12-month program is completed and based on performance, suitability and available EFT, staff will have the opportunity to move into suitable positions within the organisation.

What you need:
- Having completed within the last 12 months or nearing completion of Diploma of Nursing and AHPRA registration as Enrolled Nurse. Candidates with pending AHPRA registration are also welcome to apply.
- Ability to recognise and respond to a patient/resident whose condition is deteriorating within scope of practice.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the steps required to provide safe, professional person-centred care, which is consistent with the role of an Enrolled Nurse.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
