THE ROLE

The Paediatric Rehabilitation Clinician will play a pivotal role in partnering with children and their families to address a wide range of challenges they may face due to injury, illness, or developmental differences. Through evidence-based assessments and a problem-solving approach, you'll identify the root causes of difficulties and work collaboratively with clients to develop tailored intervention plans. The focus is on empowering children to adapt to and manage their challenges, fostering essential skills and confidence through achievable goals. Working with infants, children, and youth up to 18 years old, you'll provide goal-directed assessments and interventions in natural environments like homes, schools, and communities. This ensures that skills learned during therapy sessions can be effectively applied in real-life situations. Additionally, you'll collaborate with education, medical, and other allied health professionals to create comprehensive support networks for each child and will be working with various funding options, including CTP/ICWA, NDIS, LTCS, Private Health, Medicare, and Private/Family funding, ensuring accessibility to their services for all families in need.

THE ESSENTIALS

  • Qualified Allied Health professional with SPA, AHPRA or ASORC registration
  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience in either Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology, Rehabilitation Consultant/Counsellor
  • Knowledge of the Compulsory Third Party (CTP) and Lifetime Care and Support Scheme and willingness to be an Approved Case Manager (Lifetime Care and Support)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children/ adolescents who have either suffered serious injuries or who have complex disabilities, and their families
  • Understanding of brain injury and its effects on a child/adolescent and their family
  • Current unrestricted driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and complex negotiation skills
