This will be a great opportunity for someone who has experience in managing medical centres or clinics. The purpose of this role is to supervise and enhance medical services within the Specialised Insurance Group by managing a team of clinical advisors. The team's goal is to assist the group in providing strategic, timely, and effective medical management of claims, facilitating injured workers' recovery and return to work in line with regulatory requirements while minimising associated costs and risks.

The role also involves coordinating medical strategies to meet the organization's evolving needs. The Manager aims to enhance decision-making efficiency, reduce costs, ensure quality assurance, improve customer service, elevate case manager capability, mitigate risks, and position the Medical Services Team as a market differentiator.

This will be a permanent, full-time position based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home for up to 3 days per week.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise medical management processes and outcomes for the Specialised Insurance Group.
  • Design work practices, procedures, and schedule of work to deliver business outcomes.
  • Ensure the appropriate coordination and allocation of resources to achieve business objectives.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics and identify areas for improvement in medical management practices.
  • Analyse medical management practices and drive innovation to optimize outcomes.
  • Maintain awareness of industry developments and trends and respond effectively to changes. Coordinate and deliver individual and group learning and development programs to improve group capability.
  • Mentor and manage a team of clinical advisors to enhance their performance, professional development, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Continuously evaluate team workloads and resources to ensure appropriate distribution according to skill base and business needs.

ABOUT YOU
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., healthcare, nursing, occupational therapy).
  • Extensive demonstrated experience in a similar Leadership role, managing teams and working within a fast-paced and high-quality environment within the workers' compensation or healthcare industry.
  • Well established knowledge of disability and injury management.
  • Comprehensive understanding and demonstrated experience working in the personal injury industry, ideally with experience with the workers compensation insurance and legislation.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to accuracy and an excellent eye for detail.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
