This is an exciting leadership opportunity to join the Education Futures Institute (EFI) in the Queensland Department of Education.

The Education Futures Institute is a key system initiative in the department's education strategy, Equity and Excellence: Realising the potential of every student, to empower departmental staff, educators, school and system leaders to build professional expertise through high quality, targeted capability development across their career.

Four (4) Principal Project Officer positions are available from Term 2, 2024 until the end of Term 2, 2027, unless otherwise determined, within the Educational Leadership team.

About The Role

The Educational Leadership team, within Education Futures Institute, Capability Branch is responsible for delivering four flagship programs including Middle Leaders, Aspiring Principals, Beginning Principals and Experienced Principals.

The Principal Project Officer Plays a Key Role In

  • supporting the strategic design and development of capability programs for departmental middle, aspiring, beginning, experienced school and system leaders.
  • managing one of the flagship programs including procurement, project milestones and deliverable and management of multiple cohorts of educational leaders.
  • design and development of resources and materials associated with flagship leadership programs.
  • providing high quality advice, briefs, submissions, papers and reports to Capability Branch and Schools and Student Support Division.
  • lead and maintain liaison, communication and coordination with key stakeholders to develop coordinated implementation strategies in order to achieve required outcomes.

The ideal candidates for the Principal Project Office role will be confident and enthusiastic team players with a comprehensive understanding of project activities.
