Description:

The District Intelligence Office (DIO) supports investigators and front line police. The function of the Intelligence Office is to gather and process information on the activities of individuals or groups known or suspected of being involved in criminal activity. The purpose of this role is to provide timely and accurate intelligence to support police in preventing crime and to enhance their ability to more effectively investigate and solve crime.

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic individual to provide intelligence support to members of Sunshine Coast District and also fellow members of the team. The role provides vital assistance to frontline officers and contributes the strategic objective of keeping our community safe.

The Core Capability Requirements For This Role Are

  • Support the QPS Strategic Plan through the provision of intelligence services to Command and Regions in the assessment of problems places, cases and issues.
  • Provide analytical advice and recommendations to QPS officers in relation to specific investigations and operations.
  • Plan and prepare intelligence assessments in relation to crime and other community safety matters utilising accepted intelligence processes.
  • Establish and maintain effective networks within the QPS and with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of effective work practices.


Role Requirements

  • The successful applicant/s will be required to perform duty within any Group/Unit within the surrounding area where District Intel conducts business.
  • The successful applicant/s may be required to undergo psychometric assessment, prior to appointment.
  • Applicants are advised that whilst performing the duties of the position they may be exposed to material (written, visual and audio) of a graphic and sensitive nature.
  • Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to the minimal level of Negative Vetting Level 1 (see Additional Information)
  • The successful applicant/s must undertake intelligence training delivered by the Queensland Police Service in line with current policy.
