On behalf of our client United Industrial Solutions (UIS), we are advertising.

United Industrial Solutions (UIS) is an Australian owned and operated business specialising in surface preparation and Industrial coatings throughout Western Australia.

UIS maintain purpose built Blasting and Painting facilities in Naval Base and Karratha, Western Australia.

We pride ourselves on providing specialised and quality service to our clients in the resource, energy, infrastructure and mining industries.

Due to the ongoing growth of our business and upcoming projects, we are currently seeking Painters for our Karratha facility.

These roles are expected to be ongoing for the right candidates.

Job Duties

  • Prepare surface by Painting to specification, meeting defined production standards,schedules, and quality requirements.
  • Work with , paint systems and various tools for the completion of surface coating as per specifications.
  • Select the appropriate paint or mix paints according to a predetermined formula.
  • Support the Company’s Quality Assurance guidelines with respect to finished painted products.
  • Measuring and Mixing paint correctly to manufacturers specifications.
  • Complete pre-start checks on equipment (compressors, blast machines, paint spraying machines).
  • Complete JSAs/JHAs when required.
  • Ensure all occupational health and safety standards and procedures are followed and met.
  • Paint to required and specified quality (Thicknesses).
  • Hand all relevant documentation into the office daily.
  • Other duties as directed by managers.

The Role

The successful candidate will have previous mining/yard experience, and the following range of skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 yrs experience as Painter/Blaster (preferred)
  • Surface preparation qualifications (Advantage)
  • Competent with airless and conventional spray painting
  • Forklift ticket (Advantage)
  • WA Drivers Licence
  • A strong commitment to Health and Safety
  • A positive attitude with proven work ethic
  • Great Teamwork
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Be physically fit and able to undertake a mandatory pre-employment medical and/or drug and alcohol testing.
