About The Role
Located in Bunbury and reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrical Tradesperson’s accountabilities will include the maintenance and repair of port infrastructure in regard to low and high voltage equipment and other duties as required within their skill sets. The Electrical Tradesperson will be responsible for carrying out maintenance plans as instructed by management, performing electrical isolations and keeping all electrical logbooks updated as required.
All business activities of the Electrical Tradesperson are in line with Southern Ports’ mission, vision and corporate values.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold a current West Australian A Class Electrical Trade Certificate with facilities maintenance, mining or heavy industry experience.
- High Voltage switching operation ticket
- Previous experience with fixed plant maintenance of ship loaders and conveyors.
- Demonstrated commitment to Workplace Health and Safety and safety systems.
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework pertaining to electrical work in Western Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Current certificates in Confined Space, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform and Forklift will be highly regarded.
- Current WA C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) and undergo pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing.

Requirements
To be eligible for a permanent role, applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Bunbury and provide proof of Australian citizenship or permanent residency. The successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card and undergo a pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing.
