The Aboriginal Outcomes Division is multi-disciplinary and focuses on programs, projects and initiatives that support and enable the Department to improve outcomes for Aboriginal children, families and communities. The division operates at a whole-of-system, whole-of-government and whole-of-agency level. Projects focus on targeting organisational capability, developing new ways of working, enhancing economic development and designing and delivering new models of service delivery. The determination of project areas is defined by Government and the Department, which reflects emerging themes within Aboriginal communities.

  • Our Executive & Ministerial Services Team - Ensure the Ministerial, Parliamentary matters, Cabinet matters, Director General and Assistant Director Generalcorrespondence requests have the most current and correct information included, aswell as the appropriate strategic messaging.
  • Our Cultural Competence & Responsiveness Team - Developing the frameworks to improve the cultural capability and cultural competence of Aboriginal Outcomes Division throughout Communities.
  • Our Best Practice Partnership Team – Inform, guide and develop culturally responsive and fit for purpose ways of working with Aboriginal people with a focus on internal and external stakeholders.
  • Our Aboriginal Workforce Support Team – Develop Communities to be an employer of choice for Aboriginal people throughout WA.
  • Our Strategy & Accountability Team – Coordinate Communities response to priority reform initiatives including; Aboriginal Economic Reform, Reform, Governance & Relationships and lead the Communities commitment to the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.

Information about the Talent Register

  • This Talent Register is an online portal that allows you to register your interest for short term contract opportunities ( up to twelve (12) months) at the Department of Communities in a range of key positions across the Aboriginal Outcomes Division.
  • Opportunities are temporary and may be full time or part time.
  • For some roles we may be able to make direct appointments which will mean you won’t need to go through a comprehensive recruitment process.
  • The register is actively monitored, and applicants may be contacted if an opportunity arises suiting their skills and experience.
  • Once you apply, the register will stay open until 30/09/2024, after which time, you will need to reapply.
  • Please be aware there is no guarantee that an offer of employment will be made while an application remains on the register.

This talent register will be accessible for up to 12 months to fill a number of short-term vacancies within the Aboriginal Outcomes Division.

Eligibility Requirements

You must be an Australian citizen, Permanent Resident or hold an appropriate Australian work visa to apply for a role through the register. Migration information for international applicants can be found on the Migration WA website.
