Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services (SCECS) is now hiring for a Early Childhood Education and Care Operations Officer to join our team on a Permanent Full-Time basis.
Role Purpose
This position will inform operational guidance, oversight and support for the SCECS Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Directors ensuring the delivery of high quality child safe and exceptional, child centered educational services.
As an Operations Officer you will visit and guide services to build capacity and capability in the provision of high quality educational experiences and environments for all children as defined in the NSW Early Years Framework, Belonging, Being and Becoming and the National Quality Standards.
Essential Qualifications
- University qualification as an Early Childhood Teacher
- Proficient NESA Teacher Accreditation
- First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis and CPR
- Identify & respond to children and young people at risk of significant harm.
- Current NSW driver license and use of a comprehensively insured, registered motor vehicle.
- A valid NSW Working with Children Check clearance number.
Essential Knowledge and Experience
- Demonstrated 5 years’ teaching experience in a leadership role in an Early Childhood setting
- Willingness to respect and uphold the ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of the Employer
- Understanding of contemporary early childhood pedagogies, their promotion within a curriculum plan and the ongoing cycle of critical reflection to improve educational outcomes for all children.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of relevant Child Protection Law matters applicable to the jurisdiction and proactive response to child protection matters.
- High level written, oral and presentation skills.
Major Accountabilities-
Operations
- Work collaboratively with the Pedagogy and Practice Manager and Directors in compliance with Regulations, NQF and Child Safe Standards.
- Support the Director in continuing compliance with Regulations, NQF and Child Safe Standards.
- Collaborate with the service team in the preparation of the Quality Improvement Plan and the Self Assessment and the collation of meaningful evidence to support the exceeding themes.
Pedagogy
- Work collaboratively with the SCECS Pedagogy and Practice Manager in planning the direction and guidance on curriculum pedagogy and practice to build capacity of teachers and educators within our services.
- Provide on-demand, high quality, consistent and effective advice and coaching to support the teaching and learning for all children.
- Inspire, encourage and guide the Educational Leader to work collaboratively with their teams for the creation of inspiring and inclusive environments.
- Work directly with each Director in the delivery of their Quality Improvement Plan actions in a coaching and modelling capacity to build sustainable teaching and learning for all children.
- Develop a collaborative relationship and support the Inclusion Support Officer to guide teams in the implementation of strategies as identified in the Inclusion Support Plan.
- To support, build and maintain the service’s Reconciliation Acton Plan (RAP) initiatives by promoting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, languages, knowledge systems and histories through culturally sensitive practices.
