The Clinical Research Centre (CRC), as part of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN), enables children to access novel therapies and innovative research in a safe, family-friendly environment. At the Clinical Research Centre, our clinical research nurses and study coordinators take a lead role in collaborating with clinical investigators and industry partners to prepare and conduct clinical research, including clinical trials, with children. As the primary interface between trial participants, families, and clinicians, clinical research nurses and study coordinators use and build upon their communication, problem-solving, and core nursing and research skills to deliver care through research daily. As the Clinical Trials Data Manager, you will: -work Monday–Friday across both The Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. What you'll be doing
The Clinical Trials Data Manager will be responsible for supporting the SCHN Clinical Research Centres (CRCs), through the provision of direct support and advice in relation to clinical research data systems management. The Clinical Trials Data Manager will act as a central support person for SCHN CRC personnel in relation to the use of Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems (including, but not limited to, RedCap), the SCHN Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS), and the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Day-to-day tasks may include but are not limited to, data system design/development, data system management including study builds/set-up/preparation, providing user support via training and troubleshooting, and the preparation of reports/extracts. The Clinical Trials Data Manager will also liaise with internal and external vendors, including the SCHN EMR and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) teams, eHealth, Office for Health, and Medical Research (OHMR), and Advarra/Bio-Optronics to ensure the appropriate notification, escalation, and resolution of technical and operational issues in relation to the use of data systems for clinical research. Relevant tertiary qualifications with subsequent relevant experience in a clinical research environment
Extensive experience in the development, management, and reporting of data and data systems for clinical research including clinical trials (e.g. EDC, CTMS, EMR)
Understanding of regulatory and ethical guidelines relevant to the conduct of clinical research
Demonstrated ability to interpret study protocols to guide data management workflows and CTMS builds
Demonstrated ability to exercise autonomy and initiative in relation to day-to-day problem solving, communication and decision making
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in liaising with a variety of stakeholders/audiences
Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, have an attention to detail, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a highly paced environment.
Ability to work both independently, collaboratively as part of a team, and take a consultative approach

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
