Immediate Start - Famous Australian Organisation - 12 Month Contract Initially - Oversee Day-to-Day Financial Operations - CA/CPA - Team Management
About the roleAn exciting immediate start role with a famous Australian-owned industry-leading organisation currently exists in order to fill a key role in their finance team. Taking a hands-on approach, this Finance Manager role will help assist in the management and communication of the companies’ financial & corporate accounting activities. Initially this will be a 12 month fixed-term contractual assignment, however there is the genuine view for this role to be made permanent following this initial period.
The responsibilities
Reporting into the Head of Accounting, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, including management of accounting and the effective oversight of all financial transactions including the month-end and year-end close process.
- Analyse financial data and make practical recommendations to improve the way the business operates
- Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure all financial operations task completed on time and accurate.
- Identify and assess financial risks to the business and implement strategies to manage these risks.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, taxation and compliance requirements.
- Good working knowledge of indirect taxes including employment type taxes (e.g. GST, payroll tax, FBT, stamp duty, fuel tax credits), and understanding of practical application to company employees.
- Ad-hoc projects as and when required
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, reporting, process and efficiency
Ideally, you will be a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross-functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have a strong attention to detail, enjoy being hands-on with the work and have worked in a large, complex organisation previously.
