About the Role
A fixed term contract opportunity is currently available within the CFA finance function. This autonomous role will be suitable for an experienced finance professional with an audit background or a financial analyst seeking exposure to a government agency in the emergency services sector.
This hands-on role will require sound judgement to achieve set outcomes due to year-end financial reporting requirements, to prepare for the year-end Victorian Auditor-General Office (VAGO) audit, Department of Treasury & Finance Reporting and Annual Financial Statements reporting.
As a primary support to the Financial Reporting Manager for financial analysis and reporting, you will have responsibility for leading and managing financial accounting and reporting processes and ensuring compliance with the CFA financial management and operation policies, Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and Financial Reporting Directions (FRD). The successful candidate will be required to commence on a fixed term basis from mid-June 2024 through to mid-October 2024.

About You
Our ideal candidate will be tertiary qualified in accounting with full CPA/CA membership. Essential to this role is your expertise preparing financial reports and statements and your understanding of financial audit and assurance concepts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, stakeholder management and ability to translate complex material into meaningful information will be important to your success.
Furthermore, experience with Australian government entities and SAP will be highly regarded.
