An exciting opportunity exists for a highly-motivated team-player to provide speech pathology services to schools in the Bayside Peninsula Area.

Speech Pathologist| AH3| Ongoing| Full Time

As a speech pathologist with Student Support Services you will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary Area-based team to build the capabilities of schools to support children and young people to access their education.

As a member of a vibrant, multi-disciplinary Student Support Services (SSS) team, the Speech Pathologist provides service in the Bayside Area to primary and secondary schools. The successful applicant will collaborate with other SSS team members to provide consultation, assessment, support and program advice capable of improving teaching, learning and wellbeing strategies for students requiring support.
The role requires sound interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work autonomously. The successful applicant may be required to work with other teams based in the Bayside Peninsula Area as/when required. Bayside have two offices, one based in Bentleigh, and one based in Frankston. The position is full time and ongoing.

You will provide a range of speech pathology supports to school-aged students to improve student learning. You will have highly developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills that enable you to liaise effectively with a range of people in the education community and beyond.

The purpose of Student Support Services is to assist children and young people facing a range of barriers to learning to achieve their educational and developmental potential through the provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at individual, group, school and network levels.

Student Support Services comprise a broad range of professionals including psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers. Student Support Services staff work as part of an integrated health and wellbeing team within networks of schools, focusing on providing group-based and individual support, workforce capability building, and the provision of specialised services.

Student Support Services (SSS) do vital work in supporting students' health and wellbeing - particularly our most vulnerable students - and SSS are critical to building an excellent education system that reduces the impact of disadvantage.

This position will be based in the Bayside Peninsula Area. Bayside have two offices, one is in Bentleigh and is in Frankston. The position is full time and ongoing.

Supervision and peer support is available within the team.
