About the role

TAFE NSW is seeking an Education Support Officer to work within the Heavy Vehicle/Mobile Plant section based at the Kurri Kurri Campus.. The role is responsible for a range of activities under the direction of a Head Teacher, to support delivery to trade apprentices. In the role, you will work closely to support teachers to ensure the appropriate course content and assessments are successfully delivered. However, you will not be required to hold a teaching qualification and are not required to teach or prepare lessons.

In the role, you will work closely to supplement the teaching activities by providing follow-up instruction as provided by a teacher and opportunities to practice skills to enhance the educative experience and engagement.

The role will require you to build engagement with industry and learners to find ways to adapt training and support services so that they are accessible and relevant to learners.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will naturally enjoy collaborating with teachers to apply your industry knowledge. You will have a love of supporting the teachers to deliver quality training and are motivated to work within a supportive and knowledgeable team environment.

You are an organised and disciplined individual, who values the importance of delivering great customer service by focusing on building strong connections within industry and customers.

Crucial to the role will be your high-level interpersonal and communication skills, including your ability to be proactive and show initiative.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Hold a Certificate III Mobile Plant Technology or Certificate III Heavy Vehicle Commercial.
  • Have a Minimum of 5 (five) years post-qualification experience, part of which has been gained in the last 3 (three) years relevant in Automotive - Heavy Vehicle and Mobile Plant.
  • Have appropriate Automotive - Heavy Vehicle and Mobile Plant subject knowledge, skills and a commitment to maintain technical currency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Programs including word and Excel and Outlook/Teams.
