The Mechanical Designer will be involved in a range of modelling and CAD tasks supporting design of High-Speed Weapons or parallel programs.
Based either at our Melbourne Office in the World Trade Centre or our Mitcham office on Wurundjeri land, and reporting directly to the Engineering Manager - High-Speed Weapons, your role will encompass:

Designing and developing components and systems for solid rocket motors, components and tooling

Conducting prototyping, troubleshooting, trials and demonstration of designs

Creating, interpreting and analysing 3D CAD models, drawings and technical documents
-
Configuration management of design artefacts
-
Managing parts through production with external stakeholders
-
Producing drawings to relevant standards
On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:

3+ years of industry experience in a similar role
-
Experience in design and manufacturing environments

Design & drafting experience using CREO
-
Knowledge of engineering materials in relevant area
-
Knowledge of GD&T, 3D CAD and PLM System
-
A high level of interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
-
Understanding of quality systems and procedures
-
Able to interpret and analyse drawings and technical documents
-
Willingness to conduct hands-on prototyping and development activities
-
Ability to meet the requirements for professional membership of Engineers Australia
